CBSE Class 10 Results 2026 declared with 93.70% pass rate; Bengal records strong performance | Check school-wise toppers list

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 board examination results for 2026, with the national pass percentage recorded at 93.70%, showing a marginal increase from last year’s 93.66%. Over 25 lakh students appeared for the exams conducted between February 17 and early March across thousands of centres. The results were announced earlier than usual this year, primarily to accommodate the newly introduced second board examination, aimed at reducing academic pressure by allowing students to improve their scores.

Across India, student performance remained consistently strong, with a large number of candidates scoring above 95%, particularly in major urban centres. Meanwhile, West Bengal emerged as a standout performer this year, recording a pass percentage of 96.16%, significantly higher than the national average and marking an improvement of 1.23 percentage points from 2025. The state saw strong overall outcomes across schools, with girls outperforming boys and several institutions reporting high success rates. The improved performance highlights Bengal’s steady academic progress, even as the early result declaration is expected to influence decisions regarding the optional second examination.
